Christian Beliefs & ResourcesThere are considerable resources on the Internet for Christians. The following provides a starting point: Huge Christian resources: ChristSites.com and CrossWalk.com and Best of the Christian Web and The Omnilist of Christian Links. Lambert Dolphin's Resources offers some very interesting articles and many useful links. The Christian Counseling Degree site offers 100 resources including Christian Writing Resources, Bible Study Tools, Bible Software, Christian Blogs and Christian Informational Websites. An excellent resource. Also have a look at the Yahoo! Christian WebRing. Faith Central is a Catholic and general Christian resource with some good detailed information and links. It is presented primarily for teachers and students in New Zealand Catholic Secondary Schools, but is made publically available. Jim Feeney offers in-depth Christian Bible studies from a Pentecostal-charismatic doctrinal perspective. Apologetics is "the defense and rational justification of the Christian faith". Most apologetics appear to be very biased and one-sided. One site that is more rational and specific than the rest is Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry. If you want apologetics this is a good place to get it! A good New Zealand Apologetics site is the Wellington Christian Apologetics Society site. A New Zealand site of interest is that of Church-Based Training (New Zealand). The Christian Classics Ethereal Library allows you to download books, texts and hymns as well as provides other study material, including Bible study resources and an Encylopedia of Christianity. Borderless Faith in New Zealand offers the Christian message in a post-modern world. A Christian blog site with daily inspirational text about the practical beliefs of the Christian faith may be found at Ezra's Apology.
Beliefs: A very interesting set of articles on Christian beliefs (from an Anglican perspective) is provided on the Exploring Christianity site. More articles to consider are those provided by the Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry and, much more controversially, those of John Spong, (now retired) Bishop of Newark.
For beliefs held by specific denominations: Associated Churches of Christ in New Zealand - their beliefs are clearly explained in the World Convention of Churches of Christ site The Auckland Christian Assembly has an interesting set of articles Christadelphian sites can be accessed through the Christadelphian Webring and a clear explanation of their beliefs is given in The Christadelphian Internet Project site. The Auckland Christadelphians also offer a Bible Answers Site. The Christadelphians also offer a Bible Basics study manual which may be studied in many different languages. Church of Christ (The International Churches of Christ) The Church of Christ, Scientist (Christian Science) have a site dedicated to the advancement of spirituality - spirituality.com. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) Congregational Church beliefs are well-explained in the Congregational Federation Site. The Liberal Catholic Church Province of the USA, the Liberal Catholic Church Links Page and lastly the King's Garden Web Site (specifically for the menu at the side), all have interesting details of Liberal Catholicism (LCC) as practised in New Zealand. It should be noted that The Liberal Catholic Church International (LCCI) is a different organisation with some different beliefs and tenets, as clearly explained on this LCCI site. Unlike the LCC, the LCCI is not represented in New Zealand as far as we can determine. Maori Christian (Ringatu and Ratana). There is very little information on the Internet about these religions, but see this St Martin's College (UK) site, and also the Ratana Faith Creed. Orthodox Christian beliefs are well covered in the wonderful Orthodox Christian Information Center and Serbian Orthodox Christianity sites The Elim Pentecostal Church beliefs Seventh-day Adventist Church and there is a Seventh-day Adventist WebRing Unitarian Church (local) and their International Site. Vineyard Christian Fellowship (Association of Vineyard Churches Aotearoa)
Holy Bible Study Tools: Investigate the following options, and find one that suits you best in your studies of the Bible. Crosswalk.com Bible Study Tools offers many different tools for studying the Bible. The Blue Letter Bible offers a Bible Lookup/Concordance and maps/images of both Old and New Testament times, and the original Hebrew and Greek of the passages. eSword offers you free software to enable your own study of the Bible (in various translations) or to help with the preparation of sermons or Sunday School lessons. The Bible Alive offers a free Bible study course, plus other resources on its site. This is a New Zealand site. Another local site is the Scripture Union in New Zealand who offer resources to aid reading of the Holy Bible, as well as programmes for youth and children. And finally, courtesy of The Bible Gateway is a Bible concordance in 12 languages, and 9 different translations.
